2nd Shift Test Operator I

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Test Manager, the Test Operator will perform assigned tests primarily in support of the engineering department. Tests include executing defined procedures on dynamometers and/or sub-system test stands to determine performance characteristics for the next generation DeltaHawk engine and its various subsystems. These duties will play a critical role to support the development, certification and preparations for production of DeltaHawk engines.

2nd shift hours:  Monday – Friday; 4:00p.m. – 12:30a.m

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Have excellent situational awareness and safety consciousness
  • Read, understand and accurately execute defined test procedures and plans for engines and engine subsystems (fuel, cooling, oil, etc.)
  • Ensure required parameters are acquired by the data acquisition system and stored data on the DeltaHawk network
  • Comprehend and communicate technical details effectively in verbal and written form
  • Ability to effectively integrate and work as a team member



  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to follow safety procedures consistent with general mechanical shop and industrial test cell environments
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Average computer knowledge (manipulate spreadsheets, edit documents, email, etc.)
  • Ability to work 2nd (all required training will be conducted on 1st shift)
  • Passionate about learning and developing job related skills as well as problem solving
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to lift, hold, and position weights up to 45 lbs occasionally (one to two times over a work shift)
  • Must have a current and valid driver’s license


  • Experience using Dynamometers
  • Aerospace industry experience
  • Electrical or test instrumentation background
  • Strong organization skills
  • Previous industrial testing experience

Working Conditions

Work will be conducted in a mechanical shop and engine test cell environment with standard precautions required consistent with an engine assembly and engine test cell environment.
