What’s Going On?

  • DeltaHawk is engineering clean-sheet, 160 hp, 180 hp, and 200 hp highly-innovative aircraft engines
  • Lightweight (engine dry weight: ~315 lbs.)
  • 4 Cylinder, 2-stroke, piston-ported Compression Ignition (CI) engine
  • Fuel: Jet-A, Jet A-1, JP-8, JP-5 or diesel fuel
  • Initial flight-test data indicates engine is already 35-40% more fuel-efficient than traditional Gasoline engines
  • Currently upgrading processes and technologies to further refine engine, including performance and endurance enhancements

Program Progress:

Staffing:

Over the last two years, DeltaHawk hired 24 talented engineers, technicians and other professionals.

FAA Testing and Certification:

Current testing and certification readiness activities:

  • Technical upgrades – design, performance and process
  • Qualification and endurance testing
  • Going above and beyond certification requirements

Infrastructure:

  • New state-of-the-art dynamometer testing facility, with both water-brake and propeller dynamometers
  • Extensive investment in data acquisition and analysis systems
  • New high-tech modern offices and labs
  • New state-of-the-art Quality Labs, including Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), Optical Comparator, and other required metrology equipment

Funding:

Secured adequate funding for engine design, certification and production, but has an open investment round for Accredited Investors.

Engine Availability:

Production of certified engines planned for summer 2019.

Pricing:

Please contact DeltaHawk Sales for pricing inquiries.

Aircraft Compatibility:

DeltaHawk engines are compatable with most general aircraft including Cessna, Piper Archer, Warrior, Seneca, Cirrus, Diamond DA-42 Twin Star and Velocity single- and twin engine models.

  • Presently has an open FAA Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) project for an engine installation in a Cessna 172.
  • Planning initial STCs for other aircraft, including Piper Archer/Warrior/Seneca, Cirrus, and Diamond DA-42 Twin Star aircraft with other aircraft to follow.
  • Has active projects underway for Velocity Single and Twin engine aircraft.

Higher Power Engines:

A complete engine line with up to 400 HP engine series is planned.
