Outside Sales Manager

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the CEO, the Outside Sales Manager will be responsible for developing new aircraft engine sales, business development and customer analysis for the General Aviation and UAS OEM business. This individual will work directly with the CEO to achieve outlined sales goals. In addition to planning, organizing, and executing sales activities in the region, the Sales Manager will present the Company, product and market info to prospective buyers.   

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Research effective sales campaigns and make strategic recommendations
  • Contact regular and prospective customers to demonstrate products, explain product features, and solicit orders
  • Identify prospective customers and new markets by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences
  • Recommend products to customers, based on customers’ needs and interests
  • Answer customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms
  • Estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties, and delivery dates.
  • Consult with clients after sales or contract signings to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support
  • Host prospective customers during factory visits, tours and aircraft demonstrations
  • Prepare RFI’s, RFQ’s, proposals, estimates, and bids that meet specific customer needs
  • Monitor market conditions, product innovations, and competitors’ products, prices, and sales
  • Perform administrative duties, such as preparing sales budgets and reports, keeping sales records, and filing expense account reports
  • Obtain credit information about prospective customers
  • Grow revenue
  • Close sales with value added solutions, including aircraft specific installation kits, STCs, etc.
  • 50% travel is anticipated

Qualifications

Required:

  • 7+ years experience selling in Aerospace industry
  • Experience with customers in the following categories:
    • Government & Defense
    • UAS (manufacturers & civilian)
    • Certified General Aviation aircraft manufacturers
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Technical Requirements – Systems knowledge of Salesforce.com and ERP.
  • Proven history of aviation sales success
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well and interact with executive-level customers and high net-worth individuals
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, trade magazines, business journals, technical papers and regulatory documentation
  • Ability to communicate effectively and develop strong relationships at all levels internally and externally with clientele, dealers, and industry partners.

Preferred:

  • Pilot’s license

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will primarily be in the field, meeting prospective customers. Candidates will need to work autonomously outside a formal office and formal team environment.
