Engine Specifications

Engine dry weight is approximately 340 lbs., including turbocharger, turbo-to-engine exhaust system, alternator and starter.

Additional weight-reducing innovations:

  • Assembly - approximately 80 lbs. for most installations
  • Smaller cowling - reduces weight and drag

Fully installed engine is anticipated to weigh equal to or less than equivalent engines being replaced.

Horsepower (hp) Sizes/Options

  • 160 hp
  • 180 hp - Initial model
  • 200 hp

Fuel Efficient

Power Reimagined.™
Flying farther on less fuel and at lower costs. That’s what it’s all about with a DeltaHawk fuel-efficient engine. What’s this mean for you? Since DeltaHawk engines burn Jet Fuel, you can fly anywhere in the world and not worry about re-fueling issues. The engines are 40 percent more efficient than Avgas engines - giving you an improved range, higher non-fuel payload and lower cost of ownership. And we didn’t stop there. The engine’s small, aerodynamic profile has a lot less drag, further increasing fuel efficiency.

Quick Fuel-Efficiency Facts:

  • A fully-installed DeltaHawk engine is anticipated to weigh = or < equivalent replacement engines
  • Idle: Less than 0.3 gallons per hour
  • 65% Power: 6.2 gallons per hour
  • 75% Power: 8.0 gallons per hour

Fly anywhere, fly further, fly for less. The choice of engines is pretty simple.

Fuel Consumption – 180 hp

  • Idle: Less than 0.3 gallons per hour
  • 65% Power: 6.2 gallons per hour
  • 75% Power: 7.5 gallons per hour
  • Initial Testing: 35-40% increased fuel economy when compared to other competing gasoline engines.

Time Between Overhaul (TBO)

  • Requesting FAA “on condition” rating for overhauls.
  • Performing extra testing before release to achieve high initial TBO's.

Maintenance & Service Program (MSP)

Includes a fixed cost-per-hour for overhauls, plus service.

Over 1,500 Total Engine Hours Accumulated:

  • Experienced frequent “zero hour restarts” due to development and production transition and in working with various components.
  • Conversely, rods and crankshafts have individually tested in the hundreds of hours.
